Science supporting Mangoselect®
Mangoselect® supports normal joint health. Its mechanism of action has been analysed in a pre-clinical study. A pilot study then demonstrated its benefits on 24 subjects from the athletic and elderly population.
Characterisation
Mangoselect® is a combination of 2 types of xanthone from mangosteen extract: alpha- and gamma-mangostin.
Mangosteen is a tropical fruit used for centuries in traditional Asian medicine. Xanthones, specifically polyphenols of mangosteen, have been extensively researched and recognised for their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

Mechanism of action
Mangoselect® contributes to normal joint health by acting on the mediator of oxidative stress and inflammation.
A mechanistic study confirmed the action of Mangoselect® by inducing systemic inflammation with intraperitoneal LPS (lipopolysaccharides) injections then measuring the blood levels of primary inflammatory mediator, TNF-α (tumor necrosis factor alpha).
90 minutes after the injection of LPS, the Mangoselect® group showed significantly lower levels of TNF-α.
